What is the Nature and Ruling of Sacrifice?

Sacrifice, which means something that is a means to get closer to Allah in the dictionary, is a religious term, and it refers to the slaughtering of an animal that meets certain conditions in accordance with the procedure for the purpose of worship in order to get closer to Allah and gain His consent, and the animal slaughtered for this purpose. A believer who is mentally healthy, free, resident and considered rich according to religious standards, both gets closer to Allah by slaughtering his sacrifice with the aim of gaining divine consent, and also helps those who cannot sacrifice due to their inadequate financial situation. The spirit of this worship includes the understanding of getting closer to Allah and making sacrifices for the people. Sacrifice is a sign that a Muslim is ready to sacrifice his entire existence in the way of Allah when necessary.

Who can sacrifice?

Sacrifice is a financial act of worship that every Muslim who is sane, has reached puberty, has enough wealth to be considered rich according to religion, and is a resident must perform. Those who have 80.18 grams of gold or its equivalent in money or goods, in addition to their basic needs and debts, must perform a sacrifice. In addition, unlike zakat, it is not necessary for a year to pass after the nisab required for the obligation to sacrifice is reached.

What is obligatory sacrifice and for whom is it obligatory?

An obligatory sacrifice is a sacrifice that is considered religiously necessary in Islam to be sacrificed during Eid al-Adha. It is obligatory for every Muslim who is mentally healthy, has reached puberty, and has the nisab amount of property (equivalent to 80.18 grams of gold) in addition to his/her basic needs.

How does the process work when I donate a sacrifice? Where is the sacrifice slaughtered?

After your sacrifice donation is received, the sacrificial animal is slaughtered in accordance with Islamic practices in the designated country. A poster with your name on it is used during the slaughter and the moment is recorded on video and sent to you. The sacrificial meat is delivered to families in need on the same day.
